Beautiful Premium Oysters from
Tokushima, Land of the Sun and Sea

Our Tokushima premium oysters are small for a reason: we produce them in pursuit of “the finest quality”—striving to reach the pinnacle of aesthetic beauty and taste.

Amabe oysters are very small compared to ordinary oysters. One reason is that we want them to be small enough so that anyone can enjoy them in a single mouthful. We have made these delicacies an appropriate size so that our customers will not experience any difficulty eating them.
Even though the oysters are small, each has nice plumpness, and a taste that is both refreshing and rich.
Besides taste, we also aim for aesthetic beauty in our oysters. Their small, round shape resembles a jewel. We want our customers to be able to enjoy our oysters with all their senses—to appreciate them visually, to enjoy their soft but supple mouthfeel, and to experience their refreshing and complex taste. The single-seed basket cultivation method, in which the oysters roll around freely in a submerged basket, is the most suitable for this purpose. The Amabe Oyster is the result of our drive to provide premium oysters cultivated with care for the enjoyment of our customers.

Pretty!

“To taste oysters is to taste the sea.”

Re:Blue Co., Ltd., is a fisheries venture started by Kensuke Iwamoto and Shogo Hayakawa. Mr. Iwamoto originally hails from Shizuoka. He decided to become a fisherman to pursue his lifelong passion for fishing. After studying fisheries resource management, he moved to Kaiyo, Tokushima Prefecture, to work at an institute that conducts research on aquatic organisms. He wanted to produce delicious oysters with his own hands, and with the go-ahead from the local fishery cooperative to experiment, began to take on the challenge of oyster production. “To taste oysters is to taste the sea,” says Iwamoto. “I think of eating oysters as sampling the various regions of the ocean.” Iwamoto hopes that Re:Blue’s valued customers will take a moment to imagine Tokushima’s beautiful sea and sunshine as they enjoy the company’s premium products.

Premium oysters born in Kaiyo, where nature, people, and gods intermingle

We cultivate Amabe oysters in Kaiyo, at the southernmost part of Tokushima Prefecture.
The pristine water of Nasa Bay is so highly transparent that it even provides habitat for corals. Minerals from the mountains and forests—including the area around Mt. Unagi Todoroki and the Kareitani River, where Todoroki Falls is located—flow into the bay via the Kaifu River, which is recognized as one of the cleanest rivers in Japan.
Premium Amabe Oysters are the result of Kaiyo’s unique and abundant nature, the passion of the people involved in their cultivation, and the blessings of the spirits enshrined in the mountains and the sea.
